Granite Gear’s Reticu-Lite collection is a new lineup of luggage from this well-known outdoor gear company. Granite Gear has been making canoeing and backpacking equipment for years. Their products are known for being tough and very functional. Granite Gear makes a variety of backpacks, canoe gear and more. Now, they have applied all that expertise to produce travel luggage. Battling through airports is tough enough on good days so I welcome quality luggage to help. I’ve purchased some of Granite Gear’s accessory pockets for backpacking. Given the quality and attention to detail I’ve seen in these pieces, I expect their luggage to be superb.
“We designed this collection with weight in-mind, and substantial effort was put in to creating a clean, sculpted form,” said Granite Gear‘s Senior Director of Design and Development Mike Meyer. “Even the minor details serve a purpose and everyday travelers will take notice.”
Granite Gear has designed the Reticu-Lite luggage to be tough, water repellent, and functional. Features incorporated into the Granite Gear Reticu-Lite collection include Repelaweave & Repelagrid fabrics and a reticulated foam front panel. Rugged wheels with impact-absorbing housings, heavy-duty corner guards and kick plates, and aircraft aluminum pull handles with rubberized grips add toughness. Water-repellent zippers, and padded comfort grab handles round out the designs.
The six piece Reticu-Lite collection includes a wheeled carry-on upright, two wheeled uprights, two wheeled duffels, and a backpack. The wheeled drop-bottom duffels have large, main compartments with U-shaped openings.
The 1.7 pound Reticu-Lite backpack has the same weather-resistant protection. Gear-Tec technology protection provides laptop/tablet defense. An add-a-bag pass-through port on the back panel allows attachment to a wheeled luggage pull-handle.
The Granite Gear Reticu-Lite collection will be available in October of this year and will be available in three colors. Prices for the various pieces range from $69.99 for the backpack to $189.99 for the large duffel and wheeled upright.
