BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (May 8, 2015)Eureka!, the outdoor brand that makes high quality gear for wilderness adventures, today announced its partnership with the Seva Foundation to lend aid to Nepal‘s earthquake victims. Working closely with the organization, Eureka! is donating hundreds of tents, sleeping bags and sleep pads for Seva to distribute throughout Nepal.

Eureka! has already begun shipping this vital gear to the Ghiling village where 68 houses have been damaged and all residents are currently sleeping outside. Other gear will be distributed throughout the region in an effort to help provide immediate shelter to residents who are now homeless. In addition the company is working with the Seva Foundation to provide additional tents at below wholesale cost to the organization. “As a leader in the outdoor industry, we feel compelled to help our friends in Nepal with whatever resources we can offer. We are urging our peers in the outdoor industry to do the same, and recognize that many have already. We are promoting our work with the Seva Foundation as a way to ask others in the industry who haven‘t had a chance to secure a relief resource to help support this very needy cause,” said Bill Kelly, group vice president of Johnson Outdoors and general manager of Johnson Outdoors Gear LLC which makes and markets Eureka brand products.

“We are grateful to Eureka! and Johnson Outdoors for its timely response to such an enormous relief effort we have underway in Nepal. We are hoping that by promoting their participation in the program it will help spread the word about our efforts in the country,” said Jenny Dubin, producer, National Geographic‘s Explorer series. “With many volunteers on the ground in Nepal, the Seva Foundation is a great resource to deliver desperately needed assistance to those suffering without shelter. We are hoping to quickly reach as many as we can before monsoon season hits. We encourage all who are interested -within the outdoor industry and beyond -to join our cause.”
