Stanley Adventure Happy Hour System

It’s not like the Adventure Happy Hour System was designed just for mixing cocktails outdoors. If you want to, you can use this excellent cocktail set at home, in your backyard, at the cabin, or while car camping. And if you don’t mind packing 2.26 pounds of stainless barware (plus the required liquids), you could take it on your next backpacking trip. Use it anywhere. Well, not at church. Or traffic school. Probably not at work either. But if you can use it at work, let me know when they’re hiring.

Stanley designed this system with an 18/8 stainless, 30 ounce (887 mL) shaker that has a strainer lid, as well as a citrus reamer, and jigger cap for measuring. Nested inside, it’s got a set of four double wall stainless rocks glasses that hold 7 ounces (207 mL) each, and look as good as they are tough. Because it all fits inside the shaker, it takes up very little space at home or on the go. And when you get home, toss it all in the dishwasher. Small footprint, low maintenance.

All of our testing was done at home, since we live in a state (Utah) that frowns on enjoying adult beverages outdoors.  So it was either in the comfort of our own kitchen, or outside, around the fire pit with friends. We invited a semi-pro mixologist to whip up some tasty drinks using vodka, whiskey, bourbon, and a variety of fruit juices and sodas. This may not have been the most healthy of choices, but like all things, moderation prevailed. We found that the size is just right for social drinking, so no one had a chance to overdo it. For the really cold drinks, the double wall design of the glasses kept them cold, without getting all sweaty on the outside.

This is really a great little kit, and with its MSRP of $50, hard to beat. I checked around, and you can pay much more for a shaker and some glasses, but I don’t think they are any better, and certainly not as durable or portable. Plus, it’s really nice to see Stanley continue to branch out from their iconic vacuum bottle, and offer more and more cool and fun ways to enjoy water, hot drinks, soups, coffee, and more while outdoors. We’d like to thank them providing their Adventure Happy Hour System for this review – our company parties just got a little classier. Cheers to Stanley for kicking summer up another notch! stanley-pmi.com
