Therm-a-Rest With New Gear at ORSM 2016

The Therm-a-Rest crew were pretty busy and they have created some great new products.  We‘ve been testing the Slacker lineup, but now there‘s plenty more goodies for the hammock crowd.

The Slacker Hammock House is a complete shelter system and includes everything but insulation.  The Hammock House includes a hammock with integrated bug net and you get a tarp too.  Slacker Suspenders complete the system and it all comes packed in a single stuff sack.  The Slacker Hammock House weighs in at 3 pounds 10 ounces and has an MSRP of $199.95.

For hammock insulation, Therm-a-Rest now offers a hammock specific sleeping pad.  It uses AirFrame technology which combines self-inflating foam with air channels and the stuff sack turns inside out and converts into a pillow or knee bolster with some extra clothes.  The Slacker Hammock Pad will have an MSRP of $119.95.  The pad weighs 1 pound 9 ounces, measures 26 inches by 75 inches and has an R-Value of 2.1.

If you don‘t like a pad in your hammock, the Slacker Snuggler and Super Snuggler work too.  Both of these hang from the bottom of the hammock and keep you insulated from below.  The Super Snuggler adds a ThermaCapture lining to trap radiant body heat from colder nights.  The Snuggler weighs in at 15 ounces and has an MSRP of $79.95 and the Super Snuggler costs $129.95 weighing 1 pound 9 ounces.

Tranquility tents are now in the Therm-a-Rest lineup and are available in both 4 and 6 person sizes.  These free standing tents come in backpack storage bags which have pockets for poles, rain fly and the tent body.  The Arrowspace shelter is a free standing shade structure that can attach to the rainfly of the 6 man tent for a huge amount of space.  Prices range from $299.95 (Arrowspace shelter) to $599.95 (Tranquility 6 tent).  Tranquility 4 and 6 wings are also available to create a standalone awning or replace the rainfly of the Tranquility tent to step up the ventilation.

Therm-a-Rest has more to show off in their line of sleeping bags, and pads and the Questar 20 degree sleeping bag is an affordable down bag that won‘t break the bank.  The regular size weighs 2 pounds 5 ounces.  The Seraos and Centari synthetic bags are updated to include Thermacapture seams which keep warmth in better.  Thee come in small, regular, and large sizes because the better fit equals more warmth.  Prices range from $169.95 to $199.95.

The Speed Valve equipped sleeping pads line is expanded to include the NeoAir 4 Season SV and the Trail King SV.  Speed Valve technology uses the black magic arts of physics and science to blow up quickly and easily.  You just sorta puff air into the large valve and surrounding air sucks in to inflate these pads.  It is really amazing.  Click here to see Therm-a-Rest demonstrate this crazy cool technology.
